Japanese Maxillary First Molar Root Canal Morphology: An Ultrastructural Study Using Micro-Computed Tomography

نویسندگان

چکیده

The present study used ultra-high-resolution micro-computed tomography (CT) to clarify the classification of root canal morphologies and incidence accessory canals in maxillary first molar mesiobuccal (MB) root. Aspects relationship with reinfection during or after endodontic treatment were also investigated. Molar three-dimensional structure, pulp cavity, examined on micro-CT images 100 Japanese molars from collection at Department Anatomy, Tokyo Dental College. most common Vertucci’s main mesial was Type I, followed by V. Accessory 75.0%, which higher than previously reported; however, majority such within apical 3 mm. Many observed even single suggesting that existence should always be considered if diagnostic imaging clearly shows a I classification.

conclusions most extracted maxillary first molars were three rooted and four canals. cbct has relatively high reproducibility and accuracy of distinguishing mb2 canal. results we found 100% of cases with three separated roots, from which 69.23% had four canals including mb2 and 30.77% with three canals. 71.3% of mesiobuccal roots were two canals of type two vertucci and 28.7% type 4 with the me...

A Micro CT study of the mesiobuccal root canal morphology of the maxillary first molar tooth.

AIM To observe the morphology of the root canal system of the maxillary first molar mesiobuccal root using micro computed tomography and compare it to current canal classifications. METHODOLOGY Twenty mesiobuccal roots were resected from randomly selected extracted human maxillary first molar teeth and prepared for scanning using a SkyScan micro CT scanner (SkyScan 1172 X-ray microtomograph, ...

Three-dimensional analysis of mesiobuccal root canal of Japanese maxillary first molar using Micro-CT.

The objective of this study was to three-dimensionally observe the morphological characteristics of mesiobuccal root canals of Japanese maxillary first molars using microcomputed tomography (Micro-CT) and classify root canal variations. This study used 90 maxillary first molars. Three-dimensional reconstruction was performed using data obtained by Micro-CT, and cross-sections of the root canals...

Root canal morphology of the mesiobuccal root of maxillary first molars: a micro-computed tomographic analysis.

AIM To investigate ex vivo, the root canal morphology of the MB root of maxillary first molar teeth by means of micro-computed tomography. METHODOLOGY Thirty extracted intact human maxillary first molar teeth were selected for micro-tomographic analysis (SkyScan 1072, Aartselaar, Belgium) with a slice thickness of 38.0 mum. The following data regarding the MB root were analysed and recorded: ...

Endodontic Retreatment of a Maxillary First Molar with Unusual Palatal Root Canal Morphology: A Case Report

Introdouction: Variations in root canal morphology pose a challenge for successful endodontic treatment. The root canal anatomy of the maxillary first molar has been often described as three roots with four canals (two mesiobuccal, one distobuccal, and one palatal). The occurrence of two palatal canals in one palatal root is quite rare. This report represents the case of a maxillary first molar...
